Monthly Gallery Meetings

The chairperson of the meeting sends out an agenda, generated by the gallery manager, to the membership a few days before the meeting. Members are asked to add agenda items if necessary.

We meet at the gallery (or optionally by zoom) monthly, usually on a Saturday or Sunday morning at 10:00.

The chair asks for a note-taker and the meeting is recorded.

Each member gives a quick update of their activities.

We work through the agenda items.

When we vote, normally, a simple majority of all the present members rules. Or if the item is important, we wait for a real quorum to vote.

After a vote has been taken, in most instances, a second vote should not be taken.  It behooves members to make all their comments before the vote and not try to change the vote after it happens.

There is no absentee voting.  You can only vote if you attend the meeting.  Members who cannot attend a meeting are free to send an email to the membership with information or opinions about the issue (or potential member) but not vote.

When voting on any phase of membership for a prospective member, a simple raise of hands is sufficient for the initial vote to see work and the final vote after the interview.  But after the artist has shown work, to vote for the interview, an anonymous paper ballot is required. Members attending by zoom will always vote by raising hands.  At any time, the members can decide for a specific vote to use an anonymous paper ballot instead of raising hands.

A chairperson and date are chosen for the next meeting.

The meeting ends by noon as that is when the gallery opens.

The note-taker will send the meeting minutes out to membership. The recording will also be sent to the members. If there are any policy or procedure changes, they will get incorporated into the Policy and Procedures. The minutes are also filed in the Policy and Procedures.
